Wednesday afternoon. Not that the weather matters

The weather doesnt really matter. I have to be here anyway really. I have a few things to do

  • Operational Research Coursework
  • Digital Coursework
  • My final year project….

And all that is just for starters!

Right now i really should be doing some stuff for digital. then i think i will go and see the DramSoc production of “Tender” by Abi Morgan. but it is a matter of working through some intructions. Oh well. Lets go make some wave forms!

The end of term is nigh

Maybe it’s not all that close. but i have some coursework on the go at the moment (including final year project…) so i had better get it out of the way.

I guess that summs up my attitude really. “Get it out of the way.” my heart isnt hugely in it. Its a thing to do. its ok i suppose. its an odd thought really.

Time really to look at more important(or at least interesting) things. Like christmas holidays.

Home for a Festive Season

I am at home for a week for christmas. before heading off elsewhere for a week…

Its a bit odd what with not having “my room”. Well, i guess i wouldnt make much use of one if i did have one…

Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year

All isnt exactly going to plan…

Really i need to write a rendering engine for this site to make entries so much easier.

But at the moment i am somewhat busier, due to some course work i am working on. Only it isnt. Working i mean. Well not quite.

Time soon i think to try out some linux. Just need to get a cheap Pentium box. and then play with that ;-)

Things i Should, and Shouldn’t be doing

Went to the london boat show today. which was nice.

I think sailing will be a good thing to do after i have been to Germany . I will be improving my German. Or maybe that is more accuratly relearning, and then improving.

German vocab was th basis of my new year’s resolution. i.e. learning some. Hmmm… better get on with that.

back to coursework hell

On the wondering about where this is going

Some people amongst others might be expecting something on this weblog. I would hate to dissapoint my public….

But right now I wonder where my union life will go now. I am disheartened at the moment. Maybe not so much by the rejection of a Motion of Censure of Sen Ganesh, President of Imperial College Union but the way in which it was rejected. Nothing seems to be the end of anything. Wouldnt it be great if one could tell when an issue was ended.

I’ts making me wonder about what I want to get out of my time between now and leaving London. And what I may or maynot want to achieve, or feel is worth trying to achieve

More on this is inevitably to follow

Its the way it goes.

I had meant to work on my report tonight, but have been sidetracked by tidying, burning CDs and a little tinkering on here. The only thing I have really achieved is the addition of a WYSIWYG interface for editing posts (though it only works under IE… sigh…)

I am hopefully going to add a device for editing these pages (not just the posts) more on the fly. Then all i need is a way to create entire pages on the server without uploading, and we are away!

See, and no mention of union stuff at all! Not this time.

Project Log

Blogging with a purpose

I am just setting up a new blog. Somewhere to keep track of my final year project, keep lots of useful resources together and make notes on whenever i want to.

Technology with a purpose? Oh well, it had to happen eventually….

BTW. Do you notice how i cannot change the titles at the moment? oops….

A new look blog

I have been tinkering with the way this set up works. And now as you can see it looks like a more typical WebLog. I am adding mechanisms to edit the data (like those links on the top left) that i have, without having to resort to getting files from the server, editing them, and then putting them back.

I have added a news feed from Live! (the news site run by the Engineering Faculty Students Association at IC aka City and Guilds College Union) which is nice. Once i have learnt a bit more about manipulatin I hope to add feeds from other useful news and information sites.

Most of these changes were done over the last couple of days, but due to some downtime it is nly now i have been able to implement them.

Comus Dinner 2003

Last Night I went to the Comus Dinner, which as college secretary I had helped to organise. I think it went really well. There was the usual spread of ages, from a number of freshers, to members who date back to way back when?. O took a friend from sailing with me? I don?t think she felt too threatened by all the techies on our table!

Comus, (for those of you who don?t already know?) is a social club for Former and Current members of DramSoc. The main activity of the club is the Annual Dinner, held on the Friday after the second Tuesday of January. Its amazing the lengths people go to to be there really. Each year we get about 100-110 guests attending. I wonder how other IC clubs and Societies would do. Comus is also the reason that former Dramsoc People (i.e. Comus members) return to the Union Bar on the First tuesday of each month.

Afterwards we went to the union. Which was good. We didn?t have any problems getting in this year. Which also was good.

Well, following the AGM, I am now the Comic editor. I look forward to using all Gary?s content at DramSoc.Org extensively?.
