Wow.
How cool would it be to own one of these?
I mean, just to have it an use it because it was a mechanical calculator.
Still, you wouldn’t want to take it apart.
Yes, I found this on jwz

A funny video.
Maybe I should post this to a “Fun Wall” or something.
Had a little trouble with the VW Polo today. The not-starting-in-hot-weather thing reared its head again. I could not hear any clicking coming from the engine area when turning the ignition to “start” so deduce that there is a problem with the starter solenoid. Giving it a tap with a screwdriver allows it to start, so i guess the solenoid has gone.
Will have to see how much it is to replace it tomorrow…. Lets see what the difference between a VW dealer, and JayRay is.
Hmm, The staple Door-bell-ringer used to be art students. This weekend I have had 2 calls from people offering me watch tower or bible study. I’m polite, but as soon as their purpose is apparent, its a swift not interested, good bye….
Is it the season for them, and why have I had two visits? I thought they were more organised than this, or maybe there are two groups doing the same thing in quick succession.
Thinking of plants growing (my mind kind of was, but it wasn’t actually producing anything or literary merit, its time to tidy up a little from yesterdays gate moving. I had previously, Bush-like announced that the garden was finished, and then yesterday with help from my dad, we moved the back gate to the far end of the passage.
But it was finished, you see moving the gate is just a modification….
Ok, so typing UNIT into google, was obviously going to help me find the UNIT Website.
Even vicki thought the publications list was illuminating
Ok, So i shouldn’t have been using an RSS reader to view dilbert. But recently I realised it had broken. I actually went to the dilbert site today to catch up, and was horrified. Amusing as it is to see a site where the first comment under each posting is about how bad the site was….
So, if you want to see dilbert, then I suggest the fast interface to dilbert. I mean, if they stuck an advert at the bottom of each page, it really wouldn’t be a problem, but the main site is a flash and slow loading nightmare.
Some people on the web were surprised that amongst the many things a Police Force might carry out a risk assesment of, was that of a number of their employees winning the lottery.
I cannot see how people would be surprised about this. It is not unusual for groups of people who work together to have some kind of lottery syndicate, and it is not unheard of for these people to win the jackpot. This then is something that could possibly happen.
Compare this to all the other risks that may be considered, fire, flood, terrorists, outbreak of avian pandemic flue…. and it looks like (comparatively speaking) there is actually a high chance of the lottery win scenario occurring.
I usually vote first thing in the morning. I tend to wake up on a voting day, think “oooh, polling day” and vote on my way to work.
Not this year. I decided not to vote first thing, and to vote in the evening, and as a result in the end I didn’t vote. Which annoys me, as I think it is important to – whether it makes a difference or not is another matter.
I’ll have to try better next time….
